David Harrow Music Production & Sound Design

Carol de Leon Singing

Grammy Award winner Carol de Leon has bachelor's and master's degrees in voice performance from UC Riverside and CSU Northridge and deep experience as a recording artist, choir director, and singing instructor.

FAQs

How do the online courses work?

Studying online with Point Blank is a completely unique experience and unlike any other online program. You are personally guided by an expert industry professional instructor and provided with regular opportunities to discuss and submit your work to get valuable feedback and analysis on your music:

  • Masterclasses: Live two-hour group sessions once a week for 10 weeks in each course, where the whole class is online with the instructor, recorded for you to watch back. Delivered from the US from 5:30pm-7:30pm PST on a weeknight.
  • 1-2-1 Sessions: Live 1-2-1 tutorial sessions (30 minutes each) between you and your expert instructor every two weeks, which you can record yourself on request. Plus, additional opportunities to meet in 1-2-1 sessions with a range of specialist instructors. You will need at attend at least three out of the five 1-2-1 sessions offered and submit the final assignment(s) for a passing grade in order to pass each course and complete your program. 
  • All live interaction is recordable for you to revisit at your leisure along, with hours of pre-recorded video and a wealth of written content and downloadable resources.

Is this program suitable for beginners?

No. This program is intended for intermediate-to-advanced users who already have considerable experience and familiarity with Ableton Live or Logic Pro

What are the admission requirements?

Admission into any college-level program at Point Blank requires that the prospective student:

  • Be 18 years of age or older (under age 18 may be accepted only with signed parental consent)
  • Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent
  • Be provided a current Point Blank Music School Catalog
  • Sign a School Performance Fact Sheet and an Enrollment Agreement for their program

What equipment do I need to take this course?

 

  • Either Ableton Live 11 Suite or Logic Pro X (please contact us for more details)
  • Computer – please check the minimum requirements for your chosen DAW
  • Native Instruments Komplete (recommended)
  • Native Instruments Reaktor + Blocks (essential for Sound Design and Advanced Sound Design modules)
  • A MIDI keyboard (recommended)
  • Pro Tools (essential for Advanced Mixing module)

What support do I get during this program?

Throughout your program you will be instructed and supported by our expert team of professional music instructors. You will be able to contact them via the student forum, raise any issues that you may encounter in your courses, and receive a timely response. All of the instructors are highly experienced in making music and/or have in-depth knowledge of the music business and will be able to offer valuable advice and guidance. You will also be able to participate in weekly online masterclasses where you can raise specific questions related to the course(s) you are currently taking.
