Overview

Learn to how professional piano players do it with our six-month Piano Keyboard Award program. You’ll be taught in small groups to maximize your learning potential in two college-level courses, Essential Piano Keyboard Skills and Creative Piano Keyboard Skills. As a graduate you’ll come away with the power to deliver great keyboard performances on stage or in a studio, and you'll join a global alumni community with the likes of Point Blank London graduate and X-Factor winner Leona Lewis. Learn from pro keyboardists and producers in groups of just 10 students or less, and get the benefit of focused piano keyboard instruction.

AKA Neia Jane, Chloe is an alternative rock/pop singer, songwriter, and producer and graduate of Berklee College of Music, studied Songwriting and Music Business. She released her debut album “Magic & Honey” in 2019 and has been releasing new music ever since.

Daniel Brummel

Multi-instrumentalist producer, recorded & toured with Weezer, Nada Surf, Spain, Ozma, Sanglorians, and more. Bachelor's & master's degrees in music from UCLA & Cal State LA. Composer for Lifetime TV show American Princess.

Linda Good

Composer, songwriter, producer, who co-founded alternative pop band The Twigs. Multi-instrumentalist on keyboard, voice, guitar, bass, uke, and perc. Toured with Jane’s Addiction, The Mars Volta, Lisa Marie Presley, Bitter:Sweet, others.

Jaron Lopez

FAQs

What equipment do I need to buy?

None at all! Every Point Blank student has access to their own fully-equipped workstation in class and during their practical studio work outside of class time. If you decide to purchase equipment for your own home studio, we will be happy to help you arrange student discounts from our leading industry partners including Apple, Ableton, Pioneer, Native Instruments, Serato, Izotope, Waves, and more.

When are the classes scheduled?

For each 10-week course within in this program, class meets once per week for 4 hours (with a 15-minute break included) at one of the following session times:

10:00am – 2:00pm (Morning Session)

2:30pm – 6:30pm (Afternoon Session)

7:00pm – 11:00pm (Evening Session)

Some programs contain up to 4 courses per quarter, so check the "Key Info" section on each program page to see how many classes you'll be attending each week. Classes are scheduled before the start of each quarter; call (323) 594-8740 for the most up-to-date information on scheduling and class availability. Our facilities are also open for student use six to seven days a week (depending on the quarterly course schedule), giving you valuable studio time to make your music and reinforce your new skills outside of class sessions.
